Who
Two people, two cultures, two teenagers, two cats, one life lived in between — welcome to our world in Cape Town & beyond.
We’re a husband and wife duo — one (mostly) American, one (mostly) South African — who’ve built a life in Cape Town and beyond. Right now, that “beyond” is a six-month adventure across three continents, while our kids fly off on their own.

This podcast is simply a place for honest conversations about how we live, and why.
We talk about things like:

- Alternative education
- Building a life that feels true — even if it doesn’t look typical!

We’ve started a podcast — not because the world needs more noise, but because we wanted a place for honest, spacious conversations about the way we live.
We’ve had homebirths. We send our kids to nontraditional schools. We’ve built a life full of risks and beauty, art and mess, and we’re learning out loud as we go.
This podcast is part reflection, part conversation, part field note.
Sometimes it will be both of us talking. Sometimes one of us. Sometimes we might bring in voices from our community. But always, it’ll be real.
